Do People Still Listen to the Music in the Radio?
Technology has come very far, from what used to be a large piece of appliance where families gather around as they listen to the radio and dance around to the tunes it brings, we now have a handy electronic device that stores thousands of music, and even movies. So, is radio music still alive or have we all forgotten the large appliance that used to let us dance and have a good time while we were in our living rooms.
For the reason that radio sets are not as portable as other devices that are used to store music, less people are patronizing the bulky radio in exchange of a more sophisticated music player capable of surfing the internet and able to provide endless choices for entertainment such as movie watching and game playing. So, are people still listening to the radio?
Unfortunately, majority of radio sets have been replaced with online radio. However, this is totally not a bad thing. Let’s say you are on any of the new poker planes, listeners are able to listen to their favorite online ratio station anywhere in the world, as long as they have internet connection and a portal for their music such as their laptop or internet capable music player. In addition, listeners can save time and effort by setting up an account and downloading the software for their radio station. What is more, there is a wide variety of specific radio stations that cater to a genre such as country music, but more common radio stations are those that play pop music.
Online radio music is somewhat a progression from the conventional radio music. Here, our connection to the radio station is completely dependent in our internet as opposed to satellite transmission used a couple of years back. Another great thing about online radio music is that we can stay in tune to our favorite radio stations even if we are in another place having our vacation, compared to the limited connectivity that we used to put up with in satellite transmission based radio stations. Clearly, online radio is just the advancement to our conventional music listening method.
Some people may think that listening to the music in the radio has been eradicated by the rampant ownership of portable music players that are used to store more than tens of thousands of songs. However, this is not the case, at times we still need to listen to the radio may it be online or the conventional way to keep up to date with the latest tunes. Keeping up with the music industry is also easier through the music channels available on TV, but for those who are working all day, the radio is more useful to listen to newly released songs.
Although some may think that radio listening is dead, it actually is not. There are still a number of people who would prefer listening to new songs on the radio, and they also enjoy hearing another person, the radio disc jockey talk. Some people even say that hearing the disc jockey talk makes them feel that they are not alone.
